
In game two Noah Waldron didn't allow a single run as Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity defeated Reading 10-0 on Friday. Waldron allowed just three hits and secured Concord’s 9th consecutive district title!
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. Ross Weeks, Isaac O'Dell, Scott Spicer, and Austyn Curtis each had RBIs in the big inning.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning. Curtis drove in two when he singled.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity put up six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Weeks, O'Dell, and Curtis and a double by Spicer.
Waldron took the win for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity tallied ten hits on the day. Curtis, Waldron, and Spicer all collected multiple hits for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. Spicer, Waldron, and Curtis all had two hits to lead Concord.

In game one of district action Riley Nieswender threw a perfect game on Friday to lead Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity past Litchfield 23-0. Nieswender induced a groundout from Combs to end the game.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity was boosted by Isaac O'Dell who went 4-for-4 at the plate. O'Dell singled in the first, singled in the first, singled in the first, and singled in the second.
Nieswender led the Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity to victory on the mound. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity tallied 13 hits in the game. O'Dell, Austyn Curtis, Mitchell Brigham, and Brandon Kettwich all managed multiple hits for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. O'Dell went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity in hits. Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity stole 12 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Brigham led the way with two. Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Curtis had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Concord Varsity Baseball and Softball both advance to the district finals today. Baseball beat Litchfield 23-0 and softball also defeated Litchfield 11-10.

The boys track had an outstanding meet at the Selby classic in Jackson last night. Vince Giuliano was named the outstanding performer of the meet. Vince won the 200 meter dash and ran on the winning 400 and 1600 relays. Josh Sharp was third in the 100 meter dash and was on the 400 relay with Giuliano, Zeavion Jones and CJ Glaspie. The 1600 relay team ran a scintillating race by running the second fastest time in school history. Jones, Giuliano, Jack Freeman and Bryan Smith blazed a 3 minute 26.48 second relay. Christian Kirkland was 5th in the discus.
The Yellowjackets will be in the hunt for a State Championship on Saturday at Hudsonville.

The Track and Field Athletes that qualified for the Selby Invitational last night got to run against 19 other area schools. For the girls Natalee Williams finished out her high school career with a fourth place finish in Discus and a new career best throw. The 3200 meter relay team of Bridgette Holton, Jacey Hutchins, Rylee Weeks, and Skylar Thompson teamed up to run their fastest time of the season and that earned them a third place finish. Both Skylar and Rylee also competed in the 800 meter run where they both ran their fastest time ever as Skylar placed third and Rylee sixth. In the 300 Hurdles Anna Burrow finished eighth with her best time ever. In the 400 meter relay Ceirighen Gill, Mira Naumann, Anna Burrow, and Natalie Sharp combined to run our second fastest time of the season with a fifth place finish. In the 1600 Meter relay Ceirighen, Jacey, Rylee, and Bridgette got together to run our fastest time of the season as they placed 5th. This was a great meet for us as we prepare for this Saturday's State Finals.

The Concord Varsity Softball team split with Pittsford tonight. They ended their last regular season game with a win, and Billie Weeks added her 17th and 18th homeruns of the season.
The girls play at East Jackson for districts this Friday!

In game one of a double header Concord Varsity baseball defeated Pittsford 9-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Concord notched four runs in the seventh inning. Mitchell Brigham, Austyn Curtis, and Logan Randall all contributed in the big inning.
Noah Waldron pitched Concord To victory. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out seven. Nieswender threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Jackets scattered 12 hits in the game. Curtis, Isaac O'Dell, and Brigham each had multiple hits for Concord. O'Dell and Curtis all had three hits to lead Concord.
In game two Concord defeated Pittsford 12-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Austyn Curtis led Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity to victory by driving in five runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Curtis drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the third, a sacrifice fly in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.
Concord opened up scoring in the first inning, when Curtis singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Concord tallied six runs in the third inning. Concord’s offense in the inning came from singles by Curtis and Isaac O'Dell, a walk by Logan Randall, and a fielder's choice by Riley Nieswender.
Ross Weeks led the Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Riley Gannon and Ward entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: The varsity baseball and softball games (DH) on Tuesday, May 28th will be played AT Pittsford HS and not VCL. 4:00 start time.

The Concord Varsity Softball team swept Waldron in their last one game of the season! Billie Weeks hit her 16th homerun of the year! Although we honored our seniors last week at a home game against Napoleon, we will be losing 4 great girls! Bailey, Courtney, Madison, and Maja!
The girls have a double header at Pittsford on Tuesday and then Districts at EJ next Friday!

Congratulation to our Boy's Golf and Boy's Track teams on each winning the Big 8 Conference Championship this spring season!

The boys won the Big 8 conference meet Wednesday night to make a clean sweep of the conference. The boys swept the four relay races to set the tone for the meet.
The 3200 relay team of Jack Freeman, Matt Record, Jonathan Mikovits and Bryan Smith ran a State leading time in the victory. The 400 relay and 1600 relay also ran State best times. The 400 relay team of Josh Sharp, Zeavion Jones, CJ Glaspie and Vince Giuliano ran 44.2 seconds. The 1600 relay team of Jones, Freeman, Giuliano and Smith ran 3:28.71. The 800 relay was the same quartet as the 400 relay.
Giuliano won the 200. Smith won the 800 run. Christian Kirkland had a monster PR and won the discus. Sharp was a close runner up in the 100 dash. Glaspie placed second in the long jump. Bryce Black and Aaron Radecki made it a clean sweep in the discus by placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Freeman was 3rd and Record 6th in the 800 run. Mikovits placed third in the 3200 run and had a personal best time. Black was 4th in the shot put. Clayton Hinkle placed 6th in the long jump.
Great win for the Yellowjackets and they will compete next Tuesday in the Selby Meet at Jackson Higj School

The boy's track team won the Regional Track and Field meet at Webberville on Saturday.
Vince Giuliano paced the way for the Yellowjackets by winning the 200 meter dash and running on 4 winning relays. The 800 and 400 relay teams of Giuliano, Josh Sharp, CJ Glaspie and Zeavion Jones and the 1600 relay team of Giuliano, Jones, Jack Freeman and Bryan Smith all were victorious.
The 3200 meter relay team of Freeman, Smith, Matt Record and Jonathan Mikovits placed second and qualified to the State Meet. Mikovits also qualified in the 3200 meter run.
Josh Sharp won the 100 meter dash. Also qualifying for the State Meet were, Glaspie in the long jump, Bryce Black in the discus, Freeman and Smith in the 800 meter run.
Also scoring points at the Regional Meet were, Joe Bulko in the Pole Vault, Clayton Hinkle in the high and intermediate hurdles, Jones in the 400 meter run, Aaron Radecki and Christian Kirkland in the discus, Black and Kirkland in the shot put, Record in the 3200 meter run.
Concord will compete Wednesday in the conference meet at Quincy

On Saturday the track and field athletes traveled to Webberville for Regional competition. There was 14 schools competing and when the day ended the girls had an outstanding day as they finished in third place. The day got started with Billie Weeks wining the High Jump and Alex Butterfield finishing in fourth. Then in long jump Madlin Vrdojak had a fantastic jump as she, jumped to a new personal best mark. Also in long Jump Billie placed second. In Pole Vault competing for the first time was Haylee Rinehart and Madison Nagel. Nagel placed 7th with her new personnel record setting vault. In shot put Billie finished fourth. In Discus Meghan Gray placed ninth as she had her best toss ever. Natalee Williams had a great day as she placed 5th. We started the field events with a victory and when the running events started with the 3200 meter relay the team of Bridgette Holton, Jacey Hutchins, Rylee Weeks and Skylar Thompson kept that winning going as those ladies teamed up to run their fastest race of the season as they finished in first. In the 100 meter hurdles Anna Burrow placed 7th and Madison Nagel was tenth. In the 100 meter dash Kiara Ozuzu placed ninth and Natalie Sharp was twelfth. In the 800 meter relay Ceirighen Gill, Mira Naumaa, Natalie Sharp, and Madison Smith finished fourth. In the 1600 Meter run Alaysia Guttierez got off to a fantastic start and that led to an eighth place finish. In the 4oo meter relay the team of Ceirighen, Mira, Anna, and Billie ran to a season best time that resulted in a regional championship. In the 400 meter dash Jacey Hutchins placed 5th, and Madison Nagel ran her fastest race of the season. In the 300 meter hurdles Anna placed 7th and Natalie Sharp was ninth. Then in the 800 meter dash Rylee ran her fastest time ever as she finished 5th while Bridgette ran her fastest time of the season to place 7th. In the 200 meter dash Ceirighen placed sixth. In the 3200 meter run Skylar ran away from the competition as she placed first and Haylee Rinehart was fifth. Then it came down to the final event the 1600 meter relay where Ceirighen, Rylee, Mira and Bridgette teamed up to run their fastest race of the season as they placed third.
It was an awesome day that resulted in the 3200 Meter relay team, 400 meter relay team, Skylar in the 3200 meter run, Billie in high jump and long jump all qualifying to compete in the State Finals on June first.
Our next competition will be at Quincy on Wednesday for the Big 8 Conference Championship meet.

Concord varsity baseball played a double header at Clinton this morning. Both games were very competitive but we dropped both. It was a great opportunity for our boys to get some Saturday morning experience. Tourney time is right around the corner!
