Last night the Concord Cross Country Teams traveled to Springport for an amazing September night for running. The girls team came in nervous, yet ready to compete and the result was a second place finish. While Battle Creek St. Philip came out on top, our ladies battled to finish ahead of the other 6 schools in competition. Leading the way was Skylar Thompson as she remained perfect this season 3 invitationals, and 3 Championships. Haylee Rinehart placed 5th, Natalie Sharp was 12th, Shianne Alejandro was 15th, Nichelle Smith was 25th, Haylie Kowalski was 26th, Lauryn Howell was 31st and Savanna Gamet. Natalie Sharp smashed her career best time by 51 seconds! Everyone of them broke their 2019 season best time. Way to Run Ladies! Up next was the boys race. We knew going in we were the team everyone was chasing. Yet that just adds pressure, because you do not want to just go out with the wrong mind set and get beat. So we set some goals to help keep us driven. The result was the third Invitational Championship of the Season. Jonathan Mikovits led the way for the individual title. Following him was Matt Record in 4th, Joe Bulko in 6th, Bryan Smith in 9th, Cole Thompson in 14th, Cody Hellard in 15th, and Luke Holton in 17th. In other action are reserve runners went to the start line on a mission. The result was a third place team finish. Which was amazing with some of the schools they were competing against. The following all earned season best times with most of them by over a minute. Logan Barrett, Isaac Waldron, Adair Artis, Hunter Sharum, Chuckie King, Malachi Boyd, Hunter Wirebaugh, Connor Keefer, Ace Shappy, and Aiden Richardson. Awesome race Guys!
