
On Saturday at the Mendon Cross Country Invitational the girls team finished 6th and they were led by Skylar Thompsons first place finish, she was followed by Haylee Rinehart in 17th, Natalie Sharp in 27th, Nichelle Smith in 67th, Haylie Kowalski in 71st, Savanna Gamet in 78th, Kiara Ozuzu in 83rd and Lauryn Howell in 85th. Congratulations to Kiara on her first ever cross country race and Lauryn Howell on running her fastest time ever by over 4 minutes. Also running their fastest times ever were Savanna, Nichelle and Natalie.
In the boys race Jonathan finished 3rd, Bryan Smith 8th, Matt Record 9th, Joe Bulko 10th, Cole Thompson 15th, Luke Holton was 22nd, Cody Hellard 25th, Adair Artis was 38th, Logan Barrett was 39th, Isaac Waldron was 45th, Chuckie King was 59th, Malachi Boyd was 64th, Hunter Wirebaugh was 75th, Aiden Richardson was 76th, Ace Slappy was 77th, Hunter Scharum was 78th and Gavin Adams was 90th. There was 12 of the guys who ran their fastest time of the season. Aiden and Malachi led the way by running over a minute faster then they had ever run.

The Varsity Volleyball team went to the Pinckney Invitational and cam out 2-3 on the day after taking on some powerhouse teams. The split in pool play: lost to Monroe 11-25, 14-25 and beat Chelsea 25-21, 25-22. In power pool play we beat Swartz Creek 25-20, 25-20 and lost to CSPA 18-25, 13-25. In the silver bracket we lost in the first round to Ann Arbor Pioneer 10-25, 17-25. Leading the hitters for the day were Georgia Weeks with 19 kills, Anna Burrow with 12 kills, Karlee Gamet with 11 kills and Hadley Kettwich with 9 kills. Jacey Hutchins led the servers with 36/40 and 3 aces, Karlee Gamet 29/30 with 2 aces and Georgia Weeks 26/24 with 2 aces. Julia Tiske had 51 assists. Karlee also had 41 digs and Rylee Weeks had 35.

Last night the Cross Country teams traveled to Eaton Rapids to run in there invitational. But this meet is a little unique because they combine freshmen and sophmores together in one race, then juniors and seniors. Then for scoring they also combine girls and guys. In the final results, Concord was 7th out of the 13 schools competing. Lansing Catholic placed first. This Saturday we will be competing in the Mendon Invitational at 10:00 AM.

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Jonesville in a great match 23-25, 28-26, 25-17, 21-25, 15-12. Our defense was the key tonight and Karlee Gamet led us with 42 digs, Rylee Weeks had 27 digs, and Georgia Weeks had 23 digs. Our blocking keeps improving and Anna Burrow and Georgia Weeks each had 3 blocks. Georgia also led the offense with 12 kills and Anna and Jacey Hutchins each had 6 kills. Julia Riske had 26 setting assists. Leading servers were Karlee Gamet serving 23/24, Julia Riske was 20/20, Rylee Weeks was 19/21, Georgia was 18/18 and Jacey was 15/15.

The Varsity Volleyball team went to Blissfield this morning for a quad. They continue to gain experience but came up empty. We lost to Lenawee Christian 24-26, 15-25, Blissfield 11-25, 11-25, and Grass Lake 19-25, 25-18, 8-15. Each game our defense is improving - Georgia Weeks had 26 digs, Karlee Gamet also had 26 digs and Hadley Kettwich added 22 digs. Jacey Hutchins led the serving for the day - serving 24/26 with 2 aces, Julia Riske was 22/24 with 3 aces and Rylee Weeks was 19/21 with 2 aces. Georgia had 9 kills, Jacey added 8 and Karlee had 7. Julia had 30 setting assists. We are 2-8-1 on the season.

The middle school Cross Country team got off to a roaring start at the Homer Invitational on Saturday. The girls placed 2nd to Pittsford by a mere 3 points. Cece Barrett lead the way with a 4th place finish. Gwen Bulko placed 8th, Riley Adam's was 10th, Caitlin Wright was 15th, Jordayn Metcalf was 38th,, Rylee Sinden 41st and Madsyn Barret was 53rd.
The boys won the Championship. Manix Furqueon placed 10th, Leyton Bauman 11th, Tyreke Brown 12th, Nate Fritz 14th, Maddox Hutchinson 38th.
Great effort by all the runners and all goals were met. The top 4 girls and boys all earned medals.

Last night the Concord Cross Country Teams traveled to Springport for an amazing September night for running. The girls team came in nervous, yet ready to compete and the result was a second place finish. While Battle Creek St. Philip came out on top, our ladies battled to finish ahead of the other 6 schools in competition. Leading the way was Skylar Thompson as she remained perfect this season 3 invitationals, and 3 Championships. Haylee Rinehart placed 5th, Natalie Sharp was 12th, Shianne Alejandro was 15th, Nichelle Smith was 25th, Haylie Kowalski was 26th, Lauryn Howell was 31st and Savanna Gamet.
Natalie Sharp smashed her career best time by 51 seconds! Everyone of them broke their 2019 season best time. Way to Run Ladies!
Up next was the boys race. We knew going in we were the team everyone was chasing. Yet that just adds pressure, because you do not want to just go out with the wrong mind set and get beat. So we set some goals to help keep us driven. The result was the third Invitational Championship of the Season. Jonathan Mikovits led the way for the individual title. Following him was Matt Record in 4th, Joe Bulko in 6th, Bryan Smith in 9th, Cole Thompson in 14th, Cody Hellard in 15th, and Luke Holton in 17th. In other action are reserve runners went to the start line on a mission. The result was a third place team finish. Which was amazing with some of the schools they were competing against. The following all earned season best times with most of them by over a minute. Logan Barrett, Isaac Waldron, Adair Artis, Hunter Sharum, Chuckie King, Malachi Boyd, Hunter Wirebaugh, Connor Keefer, Ace Shappy, and Aiden Richardson. Awesome race Guys!

Leaders for the night were Karlee Gamet with 8 kills, Georgia Weeks with7 and Jacey Hutchins and Hadley Kettwich each with 6 kills. Julia Riske has 24 setting assists. Georgia had 14 digs, Jacey and Hadley each had 9 digs and Rylee Weeks has 7. Hadley led the servers with 19/20 and 5 aces. The Lady Jackets are now 2-5-1 for the season.

The Concord/HH Varsity Football game is now a final! The final score is 31-13. The game will not be resumed as originally announced! Have a great weekend!

The Concord JV Volleyball finished 2nd place last night in the Concord Mini Tourney, losing to a very good Athens team in the finals!! The team finished 3-2 on the day, defeating Onsted, Jackson HS, and Homer. Great job ladies!

In the girls race Skylar Thompson had another very impressive race and for the second week in a row she finished first. Haylee Rinehart was 6th, Natalie Sharp was 25th, Shianne Alejandro was 27th, Haylie Kowalski was 52nd, Nichelle Smith was 58th, Savanna Gamet was 64th and Lauryn Howell was 67th. As a team the girls finished in fourth and only four points behind third place Onsted. Great Race Ladies.
The boys race was a great team effort as Jonathan Mikovits was 2nd, Matt Record 9th, Joe Bulko 11th, Bryan Smith 13th, Luke Holton 18th, Cole Thompson 27th, Cody Hellard 33rd, Logan Barrett 38th, Isaac Waldron 59th, Chuckie King 61st, Adair Artis 66th, Hunter Sharum 80th, Malachi Boyd 85th, Hunter Wirebaugh 86th, Ace Slappy 87th, Gavin Adams 94th, Connor Keefer 95th, and Aiden Richardson 96th. For the second straight meet the guys team dug down ran hard and won another invitational Championship, as they beat out Napoleon by ten points. Next Wednesday the teams travel to Springport to compete in the Springport Invitational. Girls run at 4:00 PM

Julia also had 20 setting assists, Karlee had 24 digs and Georgia added 15 digs. The Lady Jackets are 1-4-1 on the season.

The Concord Varsity volleyball team opened up the season at the Battle Creek St. Phil tournament. They went 0-2-1 in pool play and then lost in the first round of the sliver division. Georgia Weeks led the hitters with 19 kills, Karlee Gamet had 12 kills, Anna Burrow had 8 and Jacey Hutchins had 6. Julia Riske has 41 assists on the day.

Last night the high school cross country teams traveled to Pittsford for their Earlybird Invitational along with 9 other schools. In the girls race our team placed sixth with Skylar Thompson running a fantastic race as she placed first. In the boys race it was a battle as Jonesville and us went back and fourth throughout the race. In the end we had 45 Jonesville 46 for a Jacket victory which was also the tenth straight season that the Boys have won the Pittsford Earlybird Invitational. We now prepare to run at Victory Park on Wednesday August 28th.
