Concord Varsity Volleyball team went 2-0 in pool play beating Burr Oak 25-10, 25-13, 25-18 and Clinton 26-24, 25-11, 25-21. They went on to beat Union City in quarterfinals 25-12, 22-25, 15-12 and lost to Adrian-Madison 17-25, 20-25 in the semi-finals. Georgia Weeks led the attack with 31 kills, Jacey Hutchins had 23 kills, Anna Burrow had 17 kills and Karlee Gamet had 14. Georgia was tough at the net with 9 blocks, Jacey had 5 blocks and Anna had 3 blocks. Julia Riske had 89 setting assists. Defensively Karlee had 64 digs, Georgia had 59 digs, Hadley Kettwich had 41 and Rylee Weeks had 37 digs. Rylee led the serving with 10 aces, Hadley had 4 aces, Georgia had 3, Jacey had 2 aces and Julia and Karlee each added 1 ace. The Lady Jackets improved their record to 10-15-4.

On Tuesday night the Cross Country teams traveled to Reading for the thirs Big 8 Jamboree of the season. The High School girls team finished in fifth place. Skylar Thompson finished in first place with another impressive race. Natalie Sharp had an excellent race as she improved by 12 places from where she finished in the last Jamboree. In the High School Boys race Bronson had a great day as they took first place for their first ever Jamboree Championship in their school history. Our guys finished 4 points behind in third place. Jonathan Mikovits led the way with a great race as he finished in third place just barely out of second. Isaac Waldron had an amazing day as he ran his fastest time ever. This Saturday we travel to Ella Sharp Park for the J. Chris Jensen Run, first race is at 1:00 PM. Then next Tuesday the final Big 8 Jamboree is at Homer where the Big 8 Conference title will be decided.

The Middle School Cross Country team ran at Reading on Tuesday. The girls placed second to Quincy. Cece Barrett won her third Jamboree of the season. The Concord Varsity Volleyball team defeated Quincy 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 25-18. Leading hitters were Karlee Gamet with 8 kills, Georgia Weeks with 6 kills and Jacey Hutchins 5. Julia Riske has 19 setting assists. Georgia led our defense with 34 digs, Rylee Weeks has 18 digs, Karlee had 16 and Jacey had 13 digs. Jacey led the serving with 20/21 and 3 aces, Rylee Weeks was 13/15 with 4 aces, Karlee was 13/13 with 1 ace and making her varsity debut, Autumn Cornell was 10/13 with an ace at the final of set 3! The Lady Jackets are now 2-3 in the conference!

On Saturday the Cross Country Teams traveled to Portage Michigan for one of the biggest meets in the Nation. Throughout the day there were more then 7,000 participants. The High School Girls team finished 10th out of 28 schools in their race. Leading the way was Skylar Thompson who had a fantastic race as she ran her fastest time ever to finish in second place. That time she ran also moved her up to the fourth fastest athlete ever at Concord. Shianne Alejandro, Nichelle Smith, Savanna Gamet, and Kiara Ozuzu all ran their fastest time ever. Natalie Sharp also had a great race as she barely missed her fastest time ever by .3 seconds. Congratulations ladies on an awesome team preformance. The boys team also had a fantastic day as they ran against some of the best teams in the State. They finished in sixth place out of 29 schools. Leading the way was Jonathan Mikovits who finished in fourth place with his second fastest time ever. He was followed by Matt Record who also ran his second fastest time ever. While we had a lot of great races on Saturday, the following all ran their fastest time ever. Adair Artis by 22 seconds, Malachi Boyd by 33 seconds, Logan Barrett by 57 seconds, Hunter Sharum by a minute 14, but Louie Fritz destroyed his best time ever by an amazing four minutes and 28 seconds. Way to go guys. On Tuesday the teams travel to Reading (Kimble Camp) for a very important Jamboree match up.

The Middle School Cross Country teams competed at the Portage invitational on Saturday. The girls and boys races had 500 runners in each race. Cece Barret, Riley Adam's, and Gwen Bulko earned medals in the girls race. Caitlin Wright nearly missed a medal and Riley Sinden, Maddy Barrett and Jordayn Metcalf all finished in the top half of the race. The boys were equally competitive. Manix Furqueon paced the way for the Yellowjackets. Nate Fritz, Slade Hellard and Maddox Hutchinson all ran good races in finishing in the top half of the field.

Leading the hitters were Georgia Weeks with 7 kills, Karlee Gamet with 6 kills and Anna Burrow with 5 kills. Julia Riske had 22 assists. Karlee had 32 digs, Rylee Weeks had 23 digs and Georgia had 18 digs. Rylee served tough tonight serving 18/21 with 4 aces, Jaycee Hutchins was 18/18 with 1 ace, Hadley Kettwich was 14/16 with 1 ace, and Julia Riske and Karlee Gamet were both 14/14, and Karlee had 2 aces. The Lady Jackets are now 6-14-4 for the season.

Skylar Thompson continued to dominate the Big 8, as she placed first beating out second place by 59 seconds. Haylie Kowalski moved up 4 places from where she finished in last weeks Jamboree. On the guys side Logan Barrett had an outstanding race as he moved up 8 places from where he was last week. Malachi Boyd also had a great race as he moved up 7 places. Hunter Schraum moved up 6 places and Adair Artis moved up 5. While it wasn't the overall race the girls or the guys were looking for as a team. We head to the Portage Invitational on Saturday, then next Tuesday we go to Reading for an opportunity to run against the other 7 Big 8 schools again in our next Jamboree.

Running in hot and humid conditions plus a very muddy course, the Middle School Cross country team had a very good day. The girls team placed second overall and were lead by individual champion, Cece Barrett. Gwen Bulko finished 3rd, Riley Adams 4th, One shoe Rylee Sinden placed 35th, running with one shoe after she lost one in the mud. Maddy Barrett was 44th, Dani Fritz 44th and Jordyan Metcalf was 48th. The boys improved their standing in the league with a great run in finishing 4th overall. Tyreke Brown lead the way in 11th place. Rylee Weeks served tough tonight, serving 20/22 with 1 ace, Julia was 15/15 with 2 aces and Jacey was 14/14. The Lady Jackets are now 1-3 on conference play.

The Middle school cross country teams traveled to Stockbridge on Saturday. Both the girls and boys teams had outstanding performances. The girls finished 5th overall as a team and were lead by Cece Barrett in 14th place. Riley Adams was 19th, Gwen Bulko 20th, Caitlin Wright ran an exceptional race in 24th and Dani Dritz was 101st. All the girls ran a season's best time. There were 170 girls in the race. The boys also ran exceptionally well. They all ran season's best times in placing 9th as a team. Manix Furqueon lead the way in 29th place. Lleyton Bauman was 46th, Tyreke Brown was 48th, Nate Fritz was 68th and Maddox Hutchinson was 75th. There were 180 boys in the race

In an unusual way of running a meet. Stockbridge ran everyone from all schools together then scored the race with all schools and with a small school division and a large school division. The 8th grade volleyball team travelled to Marshall for their 2nd tournament of the season. They were able to play against some great teams including Marshall and Coldwater. Despite a losing record, improvement was shown by all players. Zoe Schultz had 4 aces for the day. Madi Barrett added 2 aces and Maria Stevens and Rylee Sinden each added 1 ace. Maria Stevens led the team in kills with 4. Madi Finch stepped in to play middle and had 1 kill and 1 block. Keep improving, ladies!
