On Saturday Samantha Saenz traveled to Shepherd Michigan to run in the Mid East Qualifier meet. She was running against the best senior runners in the state. The top 12 finishers earn the opportunity to represent the State of Michigan in the Mid East championship meet in Ohio this coming Saturday. Continuation of Concord Cross Crountry. Following the girls race was the boys where Senior TJ Kessman was running. He put it all out on the course as he aimed to earn All State Honors to join his two teammates. He was in position then out of position then back in position as the race progressed as he was in a pack of runners all wanting one of those All State places. In the end he crossed the finish line for the last time with his Concord uniform on and the result was All State Honors. Congratulations you three on an outstanding day. Way to represent Concord!

Hello Concord Community and followers of Concord Athletics. Some very exciting things happened yesterday at the Cross Country State Finals. Senior Samantha Saenz took off like a flash when the gun went off and she moved right up to the front and from there she went on to run confident and determined. The result was her fourth straight season of earning All State Honors and first Overall Cross Country State Championship. That accomplishment was amazing but that wasn't the only news from Saturday as her freshmen teammate Skylar Thompson put in the race of her life as she ran her fastest time ever. The result was a 14th place finish and the second fastest freshmen time in school history. This also earned her All-State Honors.

On Saturday the Cross Country Teams competed in the state Regional meet where there were 13 schools all trying to get into the top 3 as those 3 spots earn a trip to next weeks State Finals. The girls ran awesome as a group but failed to reach there goal of getting into the top 3 as they finished a few points out in 4th place. Yet the girls have no reason to be down about how they did. Congratulations to Samantha Saenz and Skylar Thompson who both earned All Regional Honors which also earns them a chance to run individually in the State Finals. Other highlights include Congratulations to Allison Zigray who ran her fastest time ever. Congratulations to Anna Bulko, and Halie Cesco who both ran their fastest times of the season. Congratulations to Natalee Williams, and Haylie Kowlaski who both ran their second fastest time of the season. Congratulations to Samantha as she earned the title Regional Champion. The guys also came up just short of there goal to qualify for the State Finals as they also finished just a few points behind third place in fourth. Congratulations to TJ Kessman who earned All Regional Honors and a trip to the State Finals individually. Congratulations to Cole Thompson who had an outstanding race as he ran his fastest time ever. Congratulations to Bryan Smith and Luke Holton who both ran their second fastest time ever.
