OPENING DAY: Concord Varsity BB/SB will host the Homer Trojans today starting at 3:45 for a Big 8 DH. The JV BB will play at Homer.
Last night the Track and Field teams traveled to Vandercook Lake. The girls team got the season off to a great start with the following highlights. Taking first place was Alex Butterfield in High Jump, Samantha Saenz in the 1600 meter run, Bridgette Holton in the 400 meter dash, Skylar Thompson in the 800 and the 3200 meter runs. The 3200 Meter Relay took first with the team of Natalee Williams, Anna Bulko, Skylar and Samantha, the girls also won the 800 meter relay team with Madison Smith Cerighen Gill, Bridgette and Alex, and the team of Samantha, Natalee, Anna, and Bridgette capped the night off with a victory in the 1600 meter relay.
Other results included a second place finish in discus by Natalee, she also finished second in the 400, Anna finished second in the 800, and Gabriela Yousif finished second in the 300 hurdles. Cerighen finished third in long jump, Victoria Strouss finished third in the 110 meter hurdles, Alex finished third in the 200 meter dash and Sarah Strouss finished third in pole vault. All together it was a wonderful start to the season and we now look forward to our Big 8 Conference season starting next Wednesday at Union City.
The Concord boys golf team scored 194 to finish second at the first Big 8 Jamboree today.
Update: Friday’s baseball/softball games with Homer will begin at 3:45 pm.

Spring sports begin this week. Stay tune to Facebook, Twitter, and the district website for any scheduling changes due to the weather.
Last night the girls track team traveled to Hillsdale College to compete against 19 other schools. The season got off to a great start with the Sprint Medley Relay team of Ceirighen Gill, Alex Butterfield, Bridgette Holton, and Samantha Saenz coming in as meet Champions. Skylar Thompson had an amazing start to her high school track career as she ran an outstanding race in the 3200 where she finished in second place. Bridgette came back to run the 400 where she finished in 5th place. Natalee Williams ran the 800 where she finished 22nd. In the field events we had Alex Butterfield finish 17th in high jump, and freshemen Gabby Yousif finished in 31st. Cerighen finished 18th in long jump, while Alex was 28th. Congratulations ladies on an excellent start to the 2018 season. With this meet being early in the year it is very competitive but they choose to not keep team scores. The next meet for the High School athletes will be on Thursday April 12th. Reminder we do have track practice next week, be there at 3:00PM.

Attention Spring Sport Athletes: Sports pictures will be held on Wednesday (3/28) & Thursday (3/29) for spring sports. Concord's Shawn Barratt was eliminated today at the state wrestling finals and finished tied for 12th in the state. Congrats to Shawn on a great season!

GBB Districts: Wednesday, February 28th...HH v. EJ 5:30 & Concord v. GL 7:00 AT Hanover-Horton HS.
