
Concord Varsity BB swept Quincy 6-5 & 2-0. The Varsity SB team lost to the league leading Orioles 11-3 & 12-0.

The Concord School-Linked Health Center will be conducting sports physicals during the school day on Wednesday, May 16th from Noon until 5:00 pm at Concord High School. The cost of the physicals is $30 and parents MUST fill out the physical form ahead of time. Payment can be made by cash, check (payable to Concord School-Linked Health Clinic), or credit card. You can pick up the physical forms in the HS, MS, and Administration offices.



Last night at Union City the girls track athletes stood out in the following events. Ceirighen Gill placed third in the 100 with a personal best, then came back and ran her second fastest time ever in the 200. Madison Smith ran her fastest time of the season in the 200 meter dash. Skylar Thompson ran her best time of the season in the 400 meter dash as she finished third. Bridgette Holton had a great race in the 800 as she ran her fastest time ever. Victoria Strouss placed 5th in the hurdles. Alex Butterfield placed third in high jump. Natalee Williams had a good day in discus as she placed second. With a new school record Samantha Saenz put together an awesome 1600 meter run as she broke 5 minutes for the first time ever. Congratulations ladies on a great night.

The boy's track team finished their dual meet season with an 8-1 record and 6-1 in the Big 8 by beating Union City and Homer on Monday night. Vince Giuliano and Josh Sharp finished 2nd and 3rd in the 100 meter dash. Cody Croad finished 4th overall and 1st versus Homer in the 200. Bryan Smith won the 400 meter dash. Jack Freeman and TJ Kessman went 1st and 2nd in the 800 meter run. Kessman won the 1600 meter run. Matt Record won his first individual race by taking the 3200 run, Luke Holton was 2nd. Clayton Hinkle was 2nd in the High hurdles and won the intermediate hurdles. All the relays were victorious. 400 relay members were, Giuliano, Sharp, Zeavion Jones and Lance Knoch. 800 relay, Sharp, Smith, Jones and Giuliano. 1600 relay, Jones, Freeman, Kessman and Smith. 3200 relay, James Silbernagel, Record, Holton and Freeman. Bryce Black won the Shot Pit and Discus with all time best throws. Lance Knoch tied for first in the high jump. Chuck King had a great day in setting personal bests in the long jump and intermediate hurdles. The track teams will be back in action Saturday in Webberville for Regionals.

The Varsity baseball-softball games at Concord on May 24th with Britton Deerfield have been cancelled due to the make-up date needed by our opponent. Concord will now play AT Sand Creek for a 4:00 start on the 24th.

Last night the Concord girls ran with a mission to beat Jonesville. We all knew it was going to be a battle, some athletes were going to have to step up and do events they had never done before. In the end the result was Concord 68 Jonesville 66. The night got started with an awesome performance by our discus throwers. The result Natalee Williams took first and Hailei Manthei took second. Alex Butterfield then finished third in the long jump and second in the high jump. When the running events started the girls 3200 relay team of Anna Bulko, Natalee Williams, Victoria Strouss and Sarah Strouss took first place. Then in the 100 meter dash Cerighen Gill ran amazing as she took first edging out the girls from Jonesville. Up next was the 800 meter relay where Alex, Madison Smith, Gabby Yousif and Natalee dominated as they finished in first. In the 1600 Samantha Saenz, Skylar Thompson and Anna finished in first, second and third as they swept the event. Anna had a great last lap as she passed and then held off Jonesville's number one runner. Samantha then ran an outstanding 400 where she finished first and her teammate Bridgette Holton battled to finish in second. Then we moved on to the 800 where Skylar and Natalee finished first and second. While Bridgette ran her guts out as she barely got beat out for third place. At this point in the meet there was 3 events to go and the score was tied. Ceirighen and Samantha stepped on the track in the 200 where Jonesville had three girls with times faster then all our girls. Yet Ceirighen took command early in the race only to be edged out by two one hundredths of a second with Samantha beating out all the rest of the Jonesville runners for third place. Going into the 3200 Jonesville was now ahead and Skylar, Anna, and Sarah Strouss finished 1, 2, 3 to secure the win. Sarah ran her only 3200 of her career as she did it for the team. Congratulations ladies on an outstanding night.

The boys track team improved their record to 5-1 with a 76-61 win over Jonesville. The boys swept the Long Jump, with CJ Glaspie, Lance Knoch and Greg Kettwich going 1-2-3. The also swept the discus with Bryce Black, Aaron Radecki and Brayden Angianga doing the honors. Angianga was 2nd in the shot put. Knoch won the high jump. Dylan Holt was third in the Pole Vault. Clayton Hinkle was 3rd in the high and intermediate hurdles. Vincent Giuliano won the 100 and 200 dashes and Josh Sharp was right behind Guiliano in 2nd . Bryan Smith won the 400. TJ Kessman was 2nd in the 800 and 3rd in the 1600. James Silbernagel was 3rd in the 3200. The Jackets swept the relays. The 3200 relay team was composed of Smith, Silbernagel, Jack Freeman and Kessman. The 800 relay: Sharp, Smith, Zeavion Jones and Guiliano. The 400 relay team of Guiliano, Sharp, Jones and Knoch. The 1600 relay of Jones, Freeman, Kessman and Smith. The track team returns to action Saturday at the Purdy Invitational.

Jr. Jacket Volleyball Camp will be held on June 11-13 at Concord HS for Grades 3-6th from 6-8 pm. The cost is $25, which includes a t-shirt.


CHS softball team collected 2 more victories last night over the visiting Spartans from Springport. CarolAnn Brigham secured the win from the pitching circle striking out four. Several CHS athletes collected multiple hits.
In the second game eight innings were needed to achieve victory, 17-16. In this game the lady jackets amassed 16 hits and again several ladies collected multiple hits. Brigham again took the win in the circle collecting 11 strike outs in the win.

Concord JV baseball split with Springport tonight. Lost game 1 7-4, and won game 2 8-7.

On Friday at the Stockbridge Invitational the girls only had a few events we competed in but did outstanding in those events. Victoria Strouss had her fastest time ever in the 100 meter hurdles, Natalee Williams had her best toss ever in the Discus that led to an 8th place finish. Skylar Thompson ran her fastest time ever in the 1600. Samantha Saenz started her night out running her fastest time of the season in the 1600 meter run, then as the wind died down she put together a terrific 3200 as she won the event with a new meet record, and a new school record. Breaking the old meet record by 19 seconds and the school record by about 24 seconds. Then went on to be named the meets outstanding Performer. Congratulations on an outstanding night Samantha.

Lead by stellar relay running, the boys track team placed 6th at the Stockbridge invitational on Friday. Competing against Division 2 and 3 schools, the boys placed 6th out of 16 schools. The day started with the 3200 relay team placing third with a Division 4 state leading time of 8:24.0. Bryan Smith, James Silbernagel, Jack Freeman and TJ Kessman made up that relay. Smith, Zeavion Jones, Josh Sharp and Vince Guiliano placed 3rd in the 4x200 relay with a season's best time. The 4x100 relay also ran a season's best time in finishing 5th with a team of Sharp, Guiliano, CJ Glaspie and Lance Knoch. The 4x400 relay capped the night with a Division 4 State leading time of 3:31.03. Jones, Guiliano, Tj Kessman and Bryan Smith's scintillating 50.8 anchor leg placed 2nd overall. The Freshman/Sophomore 4x400 relay placed first with a team of Sharp, Chuck King, Cole Thompson and Freeman. This team wokuld have placed in the varsity division. Scoring individually for the Jackets were: Josh Sharp, 4th in the 100 meter dash; Vince Guiliano, 2nd in the 200 meter dash; TJ Kessman, 3rd in the 800 meter run and Bryce Black, 9th in the Discus. The track teams will run at home on Wednesday against Jonesville. Meet starts at 4:30, come out and support your team

On Thursday the jv baseball jackets won two games in dominating fashion over Hillsdale. 17-5 and 13-0. Tonight we splti with Manchester. Came from a 4 run deficit to win game one 13-12. We dropped game 2 5-2 but the game was called due to darkness in the second.

The Varsity BB/SB games AT Hillsdale today (5/3) are cancelled due to field conditions.
