The Middle School Cross Country Teams traveled to Hudson to finish out their season at the Zone 2 Regional Meet. The girls team ran first and earned the title of Regional Champions with only 39 points! Audrey Rinehart, Audrey Pyle, and Mya Barrett pushed each other to finish in 5th, 6th, and 7th place overall. Annie Saenz came in 15th place followed by Braelynn Thorrez in 22nd, and Ayla Blossom in 34th. Ruthie Stevens had a fantastic run as well! Congratulations to the girls on such a huge achievement! The boys team also had a fantastic day. Landon Burbo finished 41st followed by Zack Stevens 52nd, and James Jordan 56th. Finn Hutchinson, Zion Eddings and Levi Otto also ran great races today! The JV volleyball team defeated Springport at home in their final match of the season (25-23, 21-25, 25-19). Stats for the night were: Gabby Herzberg- 11/11 serving with 2 aces, 4 digs, 8 kills, 4 blocks; Bella Coppernoll- 11/11 serving with 1 ace, 1 dig, 7 kills; Macy Sinden- 10 digs; Evelyn Goldsmith- 5/8 serving with 1 ace, 2 digs, 14 assists; Jordyan Metcalf- 15/16 serving with 2 aces, 5 digs, 1 kill; Lilie Vandenburgh- 11/11 serving, 6 digs; Reagan Mehl- 11/11 serving with 2 aces, 2 digs; Avery Arbuckle- 2 digs. Any girls that are interested in playing on the 5th and 6th grade basketball team. Practice will begin tomorrow(10/17) at 6PM in the middle school gym. Cost to play is $30. Games will be Saturday mornings in Union City. I will have registration papers at the first practice.

Today the Concord XC teams traveled to Sturgis to compete in the Sturgis Kiwanis Cross Country Invitational. They fought through the cold and rain to run some of their best times of the season! The girls ran first placing second overall. Mya Barrett led the team with a 3rd place finish. Audrey Pyle was 5th, Audrey Rinehart 6th, Braelynn Thorrez 29th, and Ayla Blossom 39th. Audrey Pyle, Audrey Rinehart, and Braelynn Thorrez all beat their previous personal records! Ruthie Stevens had her second best time of the season. There were 133 runners in their race. For the boys, Landon Burbo finished 49th with a new PR. James Jordan was 55th with a new PR, Zack Stevens placed 58th with a new season record, and Finn Hutchinson was 64th with a PR race. Levi Otto also ran great today! There were 130 runners in their race. Congratulations to both the girls and the boys!

The JV volleyball team played tough at their home tournament on Saturday. They finished 3rd in their pool, splitting with Michigan Center (16-25, 26-24), losing to Lansing Waverly (24-26, 11-25), and splitting with Quincy (25-16, 25-19). They were then defeated by Bronson (20-25, 25-13, 13-15) in the quarter finals. Stats for the day were: Bella Coppernoll- 27/28 serving with 4 aces, 6 digs, 16 kills, 6 blocks, 2 assists; Reagan Mehl- 27/28 serving with 7 aces, 10 digs, 1 kill; Jordyan Metcalf- 28/30 serving with 2 aces, 26 digs, 3 kills; Evelyn Goldsmith- 33/37 serving with 4 aces, 8 digs, 3 kills, 32 assists; Gabby Herzberg- 21/24 serving with 5 aces, 1 dig, 8 kills, 2 blocks; Lilie Vandenburgh- 25/26 serving with 2 aces, 20 digs, 2 kills, 1 assist; Macy Sinden- 19 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist; Jaylin Knoblett- 2 digs, 4 kills; Avery Arbuckle- 1 dig, 3 kills, 1 block, 1 assist; Lucy Otto- 1 kill; Aryonna Kehle- 1 dig. Breaking News: Concord was accepted today into the SCAA for 8-man football. This will be for varsity, JV, and middle school football. Starting in the 2024 season, Concord will play Athens, Britton-Deefield, Mendon, Morenci, Pittsford, Lenawee Christian, and Bellevue. Britton-Deerfield, Morenci, Lenawee Christian, and Concord will make up the White Division of the SCAA.

The JV volleyball team was narrowly defeated by Reading on Tuesday night (25-27, 23-25, 25-16). Lilie Vandenburgh was 10/10 serving with 2 aces. She also had 4 digs, 2 kills, and 1 assist. Reagan Mehl was also strong at the service line going 13/14 with 5 aces. Mehl also added 2 digs. Jordyan Metcalf had 4 aces, 5 digs, and 1 kill. Evelyn Goldsmith had 4 aces and 6 assists. Bella Coppernoll had 1 ace, 1 kill, and 1 block. Avery Arbuckle played strong in the front row and contributed 1 kill. Jaylin Knoblett added 2 kills. Macy Sinden had 4 digs and 1 kill. Aryonna Kehle was 3/3 serving with 1 ace and 1 dig. Lucy Otto was 4/4 serving with 1 ace and 1 kill. Gabby Herzberg also added 2 kills. Good job, ladies!

The JV Volleyball team placed 6th out of 8 teams at the Coldwater Tournament on Saturday. They saw a lot of tough competition and were able to compete at a high level. In pool play, they lost to Coldwater (16-25, 19-25) and Loy Norrix (16-25, 10-25), and they defeated Mendon (25-19, 25-17). They were then defeated by Delton Kellogg (23-25, 22-25).
