
The boys track finished fifth at the Union City Invitational on Friday. Vince Giuliano had an impressive day by winning the 200 meter dash and running on the winning 800 relay and third place 1600 relay. Zeavion Jones, CJ Glaspie and Josh Sharp ran on the 800 relay. Jones, Chuckie King and Bryan Smith ran on the 1600 relay. Both relays ran State leading times in Division 4. Glaspie placed 2nd in the long jump with a Personal Record of 20 feet 7 inches. Jones was 5th in the high jump with a personal best. Bryce Black won the discus. Christian Kirkland placed 4th in the shot put with a personal best throw. Bryan Smith ran a personal best time in the 800 and placed third. The 400 relay team of Sharp, Jones, Glaspie and Clayton Hinkle placed 5th. The yellow Jackets resume action Wednesday versus Vronson and Springport at Springport

On Friday the Track and Field teams headed to Union City to compete against Olivet, Marshall, Quincy, Bronson, Union City, Mendon, Reading and Hillsdale Academy. In the 200 meter dash Mira Naumann ran her fastest time ever. In the 400 Meter Dash Jacey Hutchins finished in sixth place. In the 1600 meter run Skylar Thompson finished third with her fastest time of the season. Also in the 1600 Alaysia Gutierrez ran her fastest time of the season. In the 3200 Meter run Haylee Rinehart ran her fastest time ever as she battled two girls from Bronson most of the race and beat them out in the last 200 meters. In the underclassmen 800 meter Relay the team of Kiara Ozuzu, Madison Nagel, Anna Burrow, and Zykiah Jones placed 5th. In the 1600 Meter relay Bridgette Holton, Jacey Hutchins, Rylee Weeks and Skylar finished 5th. That same group of athletes also teamed up in the 3200 meter relay where they finished 4th. In High Jump Alex Butterfield placed 4th. In Long Jump both Alex and Madlin Vrdoljak had their best jumps of the season. In Discus Natalee Williams had her best toss of the season. On Wednesday the track athletes head to Springport to compete against Bronson and Springport at 4:30 PM.

JV baseball split with Lenawee Christian. Taking game one in 7 and losing game two in 6. Both games were very competitive. Good job grinding through a tough week boys!

The boys track team improved to 3-0 in the Big 8 by defeating Quincy last night. Vince Giuliano won the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Jack Freeman won the 800 run and was on the winning 1600 relay team with Bryan Smith, Chuckie King, and Zeavion Jones. Smith was 2nd in the 400. CJ Glaspie won the long jump, was 3rd in the 200 and was on the winning 400 relay team with Josh Sharp, Jones and Clayton Hinkle. Sharp was 2nd in the 100 dash. Hinkle was 3rd in both hurdle races and 2nd in the long jump. Bryce Black won the discus and was third in the shot put Zeavion Jones was 2nd in the high jump and Seth Marshall was third. Jonathan Mikovits was second in the 1600 and 3200 runs. Matt Record was third in the 1600 and 3200 runs. Smith, Freeman, Mikovits and Record won the 3200 relay. The Jackets will be in action this Friday at the Union City Invitational

The JV baseball team split with Bronson. Lost game one 8-2. Game 2 we were victorious. Winning 7-5.

On Wednesday at 4:30 PM the boys and girls Track & Field teams will be hosting Quincy in a very important Big 8 Conference match-up. We would appreciate everyone coming out to cheer on these athletes.

The JV baseball team dropped two games to Hanover-Horton bringing our record to 5-3. Both games were very closely contested. Keep grinding JV.

On Tuesday, the girls Varsity Softball team split with Reading, winning the first game 14-13 and falling short the second game 2-12.
Haylie Kowalski pitched a great game with Karlee Gamet behind the plate making some great defensive stops.
The girls play a double header, home today Thursday the 18th against Napoleon!

The boys track team got off to a great start in Big 8 action bu defeating Reading and Union City on Wednesday night. Bryce Black won the shot and Discus. CJ Glaspie won the the long jump and placed 2nd in the 200 dash. Zeavion Jones won the 400 dash and the high jump. Bryan Smith won the 800 meter run. Vince Giuliano won the 100 dash. Jonathan Mikovits won the 3200 and placed 2nd in the 1600. Matt Record was 3rd in the 800, 1600 and 3200. Clayton Hinkle won the intermediate hurdles and was second in the high hurdles. The 3200 relay team of Smith, Mikovits, Record and Jack Freeman won as did the 1600 relay team of Smith, Freeman, Jones and Chuckie King. Omarion Culliver was 3rd in the intermediate hurdles and 4th in the highs.....It was a great day to be a Yellowjacket

Attention all students that plan on playing high school football in 2019. There will be a player/parent meeting on Sunday April 28th at 6:30 PM in the high school cafe. It is essential that all parents and players come to this meeting in order to get info on our summer schedule as well as important information related to our cause game supporting cancer research we will be having this fall.

In game one action the Concord Yellow Jackets JV won big over Reading 12-2 on Tuesday.
Concord opened up scoring in the first inning. Bobby Ward doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Concord Yellow Jackets JV put up five runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by The Yellow Jackets JV was led by Ross Weeks, Ward, Mason Sierminski, and TJ Figeuroa-Colon, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Tyler Carpenter got the win for Concord. He surrendered one run on one hit over three and a third innings, striking out six. Adam Richardson threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Ward went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Concord Yellow Jackets JV in hits.
In game two the Yellow Jackets JV had everything working winning big over Reading 14-4.
In the first inning, Concord Yellow Jackets JV got their offense started when Tyler Carpenter singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Concord notched seven runs in the second inning. Concord’s big inning was driven by walks by Cole Gannon, TJ Figeuroa-Colon, and Aaron Strous, singles by Carpenter and Ethan Randall, and a double by Mason Sierminski.
Ross Weeks pitched Concord to victory. He allowed one hit and four runs over four innings, striking out seven.
Carpenter went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Concord in hits. Weeks led Concord with six stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 stolen bases.

Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity took home a 5-1 victory over Britton Deerfield on Monday.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity got things started in the first inning when an error scored two runs for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity scored three runs in the third inning. The rally was led by a sac fly by Riley Gannon, a groundout by Riley Nieswender, and an error on a ball put in play by Logan Randall.
Scott Spicer led the Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity to victory on the hill. He surrendered one run on three hits over four innings. Randall and Bobby Ward entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Nighswonder took the loss for Britton Deerfield. He surrendered five runs on four hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity tallied seven hits. Austyn Curtis and Mitchell Brigham each collected multiple hits for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. Brigham and Curtis each collected two hits to lead Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity.
Britton Deerfield tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Johnson led the way with four.

Concord Varsity Softball defeated Britton-Deerfield in both games 21-20 and 4-0! Billie Weeks batted .777 and Bailey Austin and Karlee Gamet batted .667 and all 3 of them had homeruns! Karlee Gamet and Haylie Kowalski each got their first wins on the mound this season!

Concord Varsity Softball fell short on Saturday to Columbia Central and Springport in the Napoleon Classic tournament.
This week, we will have three home double headers:
Today, Monday April 15th, the varsity team will be hosting Briton-Deerfield for a double header starting at 4:00 PM.
Tuesday, April 16th we will host Reading for a double header starting at 4:15 PM.
Thursday, April 18th, we will be hosting Napoleon for a double header starting at 4:00 PM.

Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity defeated Harbor Springs 5-0 on Friday as 3 pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity put up three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Scott Spicer and Austyn Curtis.
Noah Waldron got the win for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. Ward and Gannon threw 1 innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity tallied eight hits. Curtis and Spicer all collected multiple hits for Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. Spicer and Curtis all had two hits to lead Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity. Concord Yellow Jackets Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Logan Randall had the most chances in the field with ten.
