
On Friday Night, at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game, we will honor the student-athletes of our high school cross country teams and their accomplishments, include the first academic state championship for our boys' team.

Track results from Central Michigan University. Josh Sharp won the 60 meter dash and placed second in the 200 meter dash. Vince Giuliano won the 200 meter dash. Josh qualified to the State Meet as did Vince in the 200. The DMR relay team of Bryan Smith, Chuck King, Malachi Boyd and Matt Record placed second. Chuck King was second in the long jump. Khaleah Wingfield won the girls long jump. Shianne Alejandro, Natalie Sharp, Khaleah Wingfield all ran season best times in the 200 dash

This Friday (1/10), the 2019 Cross Country Teams will be honored at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game v. Union City. Hoop action will begin for the varsity girls at 5:30 and the varsity boys will follow at 7:00.

Indoor track got off to a roaring start at Grand Valley State on Saturday. 4 athletes qualified for the indoor State Meet lead by Vince Giuliano, who ran the fastest time in the State this year with a 49.32 clocking in the 400 meter dash. Bryce Black threw 49 feet 11 inches in the weight throw and Chuck King jumped 37 feet in the triple jump to qualify. Skylar Thompson ran on a State qualifying 3200 relay team to also qualify. Seasonal best times were turned in by Bryan Smith in the 800 meters, Matt Record and Logan Barrett in the 1600, Malachi Boyd in the 400 meters. Skylar Thompson is the 800

Concord Varsity Basketball lost a tough one at Quincy tonight. Dane Funston lead the way for the Yellow Jackets with 18 points.

The JV boys basketball started conference play tonight with a strong win beating Quincy 46-39. Ke’juan Watts lead the way with 17 points, Anthony Evans 12, Issac Waldron 6, Logan Lamb 5, Alex Grundeman 4 and Lewis Fritz 2. Great all around contribution from all Yellow Jackets.

Concord Boys Basketball defeated Columbia-Central 51-48. Marley Sprague led the way with 15 points. Dane Funston added 12 and CJ Glaspie chipped in 11 points. The Concord JV lost to CC 48-34.

The JV Girls started their season with a hard fought game against Hanover Horton last night Down 10 at the start of the 4th quarter, the fight back to tie the score, but ultimately lost by 1 point, 36-37. Hadley Kettwich led all scorers with 14, Skylar Thompson added 11, Karlee Gamet had 7, and Madison Connelly and Faith Moore both had two points to round out the scoring. The Lady Jackets will face Michigan Center on Thursday at home.
The varsity girls beat HH 51-43 behind 32 points from Billie Weeks.

Reminder: Concord Athletic Booster meeting is tonight at 7:00 pm in the HS Media Center (Library).

Due to the cancellation of the Concord v. Britton Deerfield HS girls basketball games on December 9th, we will now play Sand Creek on Monday, January 13th. That will be 5:30 JV/7:00 varsity start time.

High School Boys' Basketball for any 9-12th-grade boy interested in trying out for the team will be held on Monday, November 18th at 6:00 pm in the HS gym. There will be a meeting in the HS cafeteria at 5:00 before practice. You must have a physical on file to practice/tryout.

The MS boys basketball game postponed today at Concord will be rescheduled for Thursday, November 14th at Concord MS. The 7th-grade game will begin at 4:30 pm (change from 5:00) and 8th grade will follow.

There will be a baseball meeting for players and parents to discuss offseason plan and the Florida trip Tuesday at 6pm in the high school library.

The Varsity Volleyball team lost in the finals of Districts to Hanover-Horton 22-25, 23-25, 15-25. Georgia Weeks had 10 kills, 14 digs, 2 blocks and was 7/8 serving. Karlee Gamet has 4 kills, 14 digs and 8/8 serving. Anna Burrow had 3 kills. Jacey Hutchins had 1 kill, 2 blocks, 8 digs and was 7/9 serving. Hadley Kettwich had 3 kills, 12 digs, and was 8/9 serving. Rylee Weeks was 12/15 serving and had 8 digs. Julia Riske has 18 setting assists, 7 digs and was 10/11 serving. The Lady Jackets finished the season with a 16-23-4 record. I am so proud of how far we came this season and I am already excited for next season! WE ARE CONCORD VOLLEYBALL!!!

Friday Night...Division 3 Volleyball District Finals... Concord v. Hanover-Horton at 7:00 pm in the Concord HS Gymnasium! Doors open at 6:00 pm. Go Jackets!

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Springport last night in the semi-finals of districts 25-21, 25-22, 25-12. Our defense played outstanding and was led by Karlee Gamet with 20 digs, Georgia Weeks had 19 digs, Hadley Kettwich had 16 digs, Jacey Hutchins had 14 digs and Julia Riske had 12 digs. Georgia led the hitters with 12 kills, Karlee had 7, Jacey had 5 kills and Hadley and Anna Burrow each had 3 kills. Julia had 26 setting setting assists. Rylee Weeks led the servers with 15/16 and 5 aces, Julia also was 15/16 with 2 aces, Karlee was 13/13 and Georgia was 12/12 with 1 ace. The Lady Jackets play Hanover-Horton in the finals of Districts on Friday at 7:00.

On Saturday the Cross Country Teams traveled to Michigan International Speedway for the State Finals. In the girls race Skylar had a fantastic race as she finished 5th. In doing so she earned All State Honors, and a spot on the Concord Wall of Fame. Congratulations Skylar on a fantastic season.
In the boys race Jonathan Mikovits ran his fastest time ever and in doing so he finished fourth in the State which earned him All State Honors and a spot on the Concord Wall of Fame. When the season started there were 150 schools with a chance at a State Championship in our division. On Saturday the Boys team finished 8th in the State. Concord has had Boys Cross Country for 53 seasons and this is the 26th time Concord has finished in the top ten. Way to go Guys.
