Concord will host Northpointe Christian tomorrow (Saturday, October 10th) at 12:00 PM for an 8-man JV football game. Under the new guidelines, we will allow 2-spectators per pass (4 per participant). Please arrive with the person that will share the pass to help prevent any confusion. Spectators must still wear a mask and socially distant. Thank you!

The Cross Country Teams traveled to Homer last night to compete against a very determined Homer team. After the results were tallied both the Boys and Girls of Concord came up victorious. Boys score was 26 to 31 while the girls score was 25 to 31.
Jonathan Mikovits finished second, Joe Bulko third, Logan Barrett sixth, Luke Holton 7th, Adair Artis eighth, Isaac Waldron tenth, Chuckie King eleventh, Cole Thompson thirteenth, Nolan Korman sixteenth, Jimmy Franssen eighteenth, and Gavin Adams nineteenth. With this win the guys team remains undefeated in the Big 8 Conference. In the girls race Skylar Thompson continued her Big 8 dominance as she placed first, and was followed by Haylee Rinehart in second who ran her fastest time of the season, placing fifth was Riley Adams, in eighth Natalie Sharp, in ninth Nichelle Smith, tenth Kiara Ozuzu, Haylie Kowalski in twelfth, and in fourteenth was Jasmin McCabe. The girls team improved to 5 - 1 in the big 8 Conference. Both teams will be looking to finish out the Big 8 season on Monday at home against Jonesville.
Final results are yet to be posted from the Middle School Cross Country meet at Homer. However, both the girls and boys teams defeated Homer and Springport. Every runner set a season or all time best time for the 2 mile event. Best times for the boys were set by Manix Furqueon, Connor Stevens, Maddox Hutchinson, Nate Fritz, Lleyton Bauman and Keaton Smith. Girls best times were turned in by Cece Barrett, who kept her undefeated streak alive in the Big 8 Conference, Haley Stimer, Caitlin Wright, Jordyan Metcalf and Kristin Parker

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Springport 25-5, 25-15, 25-11. The ladies served aggressively tonight. Rylee Weeks served a great match - serving 15/15 with 5 aces. Georgia Weeks led the offense with 14 kills and 1 block. She also had 21 digs and was 13/13 serving with 3 aces. Jacey Hutchins had 6 kills and was 14/14 serving with 1 ace. Karlee Gamet had 5 kills, 14 digs and was 11/11 with 2 aces. Anna Burrow had 4 kills. Julia Riske was 15/15 serving, 3 kills and 25 setting assists. Kayla Miller was 6/6 with 1 ace. The Lady Jackets are 3-1 in the conference and 7-4 overall. We host a quad at Concord this weekend!
Attention JV/Varsity Volleyball Parents: Today's volleyball match at Springport will be 2-spectators per pass (4 spectators per athlete). They will check spectators in at the door. The JV will begin at 5:30 and varsity approximately 7:00.
The 7th grade volleyball team showed a lot of improvement in their match with Homer (17-25, 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 15-6). Marissa Mandrelle led the team in aces with 15, Cece Barrett served well and added 7 aces, Jordyan Metcalf had 5 aces, and Emma Burbo had 3 aces. Emma Burbo and Jordyan Metcalf each had 4 kills and Lilie Vandenburgh led the team in assists with 3. Macy Sinden player libero and had 1 dig. Bella Coopernoll played the net well and added a kill and Gabby Herzberg played aggressively in the front row. Great job, lady Jackets!
Congrats to Faith Moore as she finished in 27th place (out of 47) at regionals today with a 54-59-113 total at a windy Cascades Golf Course.
The Varsity volleyball team defeated Union City 25-19, 25-14, 25-20. We played very solid defense tonight and served aggressively. Georgia Weeks had 11 kills, 14 digs and 2 blocks. Jacey Hutchins player and outstanding game with 8 kills, 25 digs and was 10/10 serving with 5 aces. Karlee Gamet played a great defensive game with 31 digs, 10/11 serving with 1 ace and 4 kills. Anna Burrow had some great attacks tonight with 1 kill and 1 block. Rylee Weeks had 15 digs, 2 kills and was 6/6 serving with 1 ace. Julia Riske had 24 assists, 11 digs and was 18/19 serving with 1 ace. The girls are now 2-1 in conference play and 5-4 overall.
Tonight the Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams hosted the teams from Union City. It was another great night for competing, the Guys stayed undefeated in the Big 8 as they scored a perfect score of 15 to Union City's 50. Jonathan Mikovits led the way as we swept the first 8 places. In second Joe Bulko, third Logan Barrett, fourth Luke Holton, 5th Adair Artis, 6th Chuckie King, 7th Isaac Waldron, 8th Nolan Korman, then in tenth was Cole Thompson, 12th Connor Keefer, 13th Gavin Adams, and 16th Jimmy Franssen.
In the girls race it was also a great night as they took the first six places to score 15 to Union City's 48. Skylar Thompson was firat and she was followed by Haylee Rinehart in second, Gwen Bulko in third, Riley Adams in 4th, Natalie Sharp in 5th, Nichelle Smith in 7th, Kiara Ozuzu in 8th, Haylie Kowalski in 9th, and Jasmin McCabe in 10th.
Our next meet will be Thursday when we travel to homer for a double dual, with Homer and Springport. This will be a make-up with Springport for the meet that was postponed earlier in the season.
Concord 8 man jv football traveled to Martin and played great! We battled to the bitter end but came up just short losing 18-26.
The Concord Girls Golf team played a 3-person scramble today against Hudson. The team of Faith Moore, Sidney Marshall, and Rylee Sinden shot a combined 49, losing by only two strokes to Hudson who shot 47.

We had many great performances tonight against Union City! We just couldn’t get over the hump on defense and lost 52-36. Our kids show so much heart! I am proud of their effort. Regroup learn and move forward. Jug week!
Last night the cross country teams traveled to Stockbridge to compete in the large school division of their invitational where there were ten teams competing . The results were fantastic, the boys team finished first beating out Fowlerville by 2 points. Then in the girls race we finished 7th with a few of our girls not running, so 7th may not sound all that great to some but Coach Jordon was very excited about how those that ran did. Here are some individual highlights.
Jonathan Mikovits finished in second place with his fastest time of the season, Joe Bulko was sixth with his fastest time ever, Logan Barrett was 9th also with his fastest time ever, Luke Holton was 20th with his fastest time ever, Adair Artis ran his fastest time ever by over 30 seconds to finish 27th, Isaac Waldron was under 19 minutes for the first time ever, Chuckie King ran his personnel best by 22 seconds, Cole Thompson ran his best time of the season, Nolan Korman ran his fastest ever by 52 seconds, Jimmy Franssen ran out of his mind breaking his best time ever by a minute 25, Connor Keefer ran his fastest time of the season, and Gavin Adams broke is personnel best by 57 seconds. Just a perfect night to run and they all took advantage of that.
Then in the girls race the results were filled with huge races also. As Skylar Thompson finished second with a season best time, Riley Adams ran under 23 minutes for the first time ever and in doing so also broke her fastest time ever by a minute 30, Natalie Sharp ran her fastest time of the season by 50 seconds, Nichelle Smith ran a new record by over a minute, Kiara Ozuzu ran 48 seconds faster then she had ever run, Haylie Kowalski had her best race of the season and saving the biggest improvement for last was Jasmin McCabe who smashed her previous best race by one minute fifty five seconds. Congratulations to all of our Yellowjacket runners as they stepped up and really performed against some really great competition. On Monday we host Union City and on Thursday we travel to Homer.

The Concord JV Volleyball team hosted a tri-match last night with Grass Lake and Hillsdale Academy. They lost the first match to Grass Lake16-25, 12-25. Maria Stevens had 2 kills, Rylee Sinden 2 aces, and Savannah Payne added 5 digs. In the second match the JV lost to Hillsdale Academy 25-19, 21-25, 5-15. Sam Kessman led with 6 kills and Maria Stevens added 3. Zoe Schultz had 4 aces, and Maria, Sam & Madi Barrett added 2 aces.
The Varsity volleyball team defeated Grass Lake 25-16, 25-23 and lost a tough played match to Hillsdale Academy 20-25, 25-27. Georgia Weeks had 19 kills, 28 digs, and was 13/13 serving with 1 ace. Karlee Gamet had 8 kills, 30 digs, and 22/23 serving with 1 ace. Anna Burrow had 6 kills and 1 block. Jacey Hutchins had 4 kills, 15 digs, and was 21/21 serving with 2 aces. Julia Riske had 16 assists, 6 digs and was 13/13 serving. Kayla Miller has 17 digs and was 11/11 with 1 ace. Rylee Weeks had 21 digs and was 11/13 serving with 4 aces. The ladies are now 5-4 overall on the season.
