
The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Leslie 25-11, 25-17 and lost to Lenawee Christian 14-25, 10-25. Georgia Weeks led the hitters with 14 kills, 18 digs and was 7/8 serving. Jacey Hutchins had 8 kills , 6 digs and was 22/24 serving with 1 ace. Anna Burrow had 7 kills, 12 digs, and was 16/16 serving with 2 aces. Karlee Gamet had 3 kills, 20 digs and was 11/12 serving. Jayden Householder has 3 kills. Rylee Weeks had 17 digs and was 7/7 serving. Julia Riske had 34 assists and was 7/7 serving. The Lady Jackets are now 11-5 and travel to Mt Morris on Saturday.

The 7th grade volleyball team fought hard against Lenawee Christian (25-20, 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 8-15). Bradie Lehman led the team in aces with 13. Marissa Mandrelle served aggressively and added 11 aces, Jordyan Metcalf and Cece Barrett each had 4 aces, Emma Burbo had 2 aces, and Lilie Vandenburgh had 1 ace. The team set it up well and collectively had 12 kills. Bella Coppernoll played the net well and Gabby Herzberg and Macy Sinden passed well in the back row. The team travels to Springport for their final quad of the season on Saturday. They have improved so much!

Attention Football Parents: As many of you already know, due to injuries & ineligibilities, Concord will not be playing this week against Jonesville or next week against Reading. We are very fortunate to be able to play in an 8-man football tourney created by MHSAA for schools over the 216 enrollment playing 8-man football. We will play either Thursday, October 29th or Saturday, October 31st. The tourney consists of 6 teams...Bangor, Maple Valley, Bridgman, Bloomingdale, Vandercook Lake, and Concord. The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Homer 26-24, 25-17, 25-13. We played great defense tonight and served aggressively and consistently! Rylee Weeks led the defense with 28 digs and served a tough 11/11 with 2 aces. Georgia Weeks led the offense with 22 kills. She also had 22 digs and was 9/9 with 1 ace. Karlee Gamet led the servers, serving 22/22 with 2 aces. She also had 26 digs and 7 kills. Anna Burrow played tough at the net with 3 kills and Jacey Hutchins also had 3 kills. Jacey also was 12/12 serving. Julia Riske has 33 assists, 9 digs, and was 11/11 serving with 1 ace. Kayla Miller was 8/9 serving and had 7 digs. The Jackets are now 4-1 on the conference!

On Monday night the Cross Country teams welcomed Jonesville to our final Big 8 meet of the 2020 season. The first race of the night was the High School Boys. The result was Concord 16, Jonesville 41 to improve our season record to 7 - 0 and our 30th Big 8 Conference Championship in the past 48 seasons. Our guys swept the first four places with Jonathan Mikovits first, Joe Bulko second, Logan Barrett third, and Luke Holton fourth, in sixth was Isaac Waldron, tenth Chuckie King, eleventh Cole Thompson, twelfth Nolan Korman, fourteenth Gavin Adams and in fifteenth Jimmy Franssen. Congratulations guys on a great Big 8 season. Then in the girls race Jonesville came in to town with an undefeated record and we were ready to change that, but Jonesville rose up to our challenge and came out with a 26 to 32 victory. Remaining undefeated in Big 8 races this season was Skylar Thompson as she finished as meet champion. In third place was Haylee Rinehart and close behind in fourth was Gwen Bulko with her fastest time ever, Riley Adams was tenth, Natalie Sharp thirteenth, Nichelle Smith fifteenth, Kiara Ozuzu sixteenth, Haylie Kowalski eighteenth, and Jasmin McCabe in twenty-first. The next scheduled meet is the Pre-Regional that we will be hosting on Saturday October 24th.

The Middle School Cross Country team wrapped up their Big 8 season with victories over Jonesville last night. The girls won 14 to 22 and finished 6 and 1 in the conference to secure a second place finish in conference standings. Cece Barrett concluded another undefeated season by winning her 11th race. Haley Stimer finished 2nd, Caitlin Wright was third, Jordayn Metcalf was 8th, Gabby Herzberg 11th and Kristin Parker 12th.
The boys defeated Jonesville 16 to 20 to finish 3rd in the conference. Manix Furqueon won his second race in a row. Connor Stevens was 4th, Maddox Hutchinson 5th, Nate Fritz 6th, Lleyton Bauman 9th, Keaton Smith 11th.
Both teams will compete at the Sturgis Invitational on Friday

The 7th grade volleyball team was defeated by Jonesville (25-20, 12-25, 11-25, 17-25, 12-15). Despite the loss, they played well and had many 3-contact plays. 6th grader, Bradie Lehman, stepped in to play on the 7th grade team because we were short players. She led the team in aces with 11. Marissa Mandrelle added 6 aces, Emma Burbo had 2 aces, and Bella Coopernoll and Lilie Vandenburgh each contributed an ace. Emma Burbo led the team in kills with 7 and Macy Sinden added 3 kills. Keep working hard and improving!

The Varsity Volleyball team hosted a quad today going 3-0. We defeated Adrian 25-9, 25-22, Clinton 27-25, 25-16, and Burr Oak 25-16, 25-17. Leaders for the day were Georgia Weeks with 29 kills, 36 digs and was 23/25 with 3 aces. Anna Burrow had 13 kills and a block. Jacey Hutchins had 8 kills, 2 blocks and 26/28 serving with 3 aces. Karlee Gamet had 13 kills, 55 digs and was 32/34 serving with 2 aces. Julia Riske had 60 setting assists, 5 kills, and was 23/23 serving with 2 aces. Kayla Miller was 14/16 serving with 2 aces. Jayden Householder had 3 kills. Rylee Weeks had 3 kills, 30 digs, and was 11/12 serving. The Lady Jackets are now 11-4 on the season. They travel to Homer on Tuesday for their next league match.

Another tough loss for the jackets! On a good note we have raised over 1800$ and counting for the pink jug project, to help the fight against cancer! That’s a win in our book. I love my players and this community!

The Cross Country Teams traveled to Homer last night to compete against a very determined Homer team. After the results were tallied both the Boys and Girls of Concord came up victorious. Boys score was 26 to 31 while the girls score was 25 to 31.
Jonathan Mikovits finished second, Joe Bulko third, Logan Barrett sixth, Luke Holton 7th, Adair Artis eighth, Isaac Waldron tenth, Chuckie King eleventh, Cole Thompson thirteenth, Nolan Korman sixteenth, Jimmy Franssen eighteenth, and Gavin Adams nineteenth. With this win the guys team remains undefeated in the Big 8 Conference. In the girls race Skylar Thompson continued her Big 8 dominance as she placed first, and was followed by Haylee Rinehart in second who ran her fastest time of the season, placing fifth was Riley Adams, in eighth Natalie Sharp, in ninth Nichelle Smith, tenth Kiara Ozuzu, Haylie Kowalski in twelfth, and in fourteenth was Jasmin McCabe. The girls team improved to 5 - 1 in the big 8 Conference. Both teams will be looking to finish out the Big 8 season on Monday at home against Jonesville.

Final results are yet to be posted from the Middle School Cross Country meet at Homer. However, both the girls and boys teams defeated Homer and Springport. Every runner set a season or all time best time for the 2 mile event. Best times for the boys were set by Manix Furqueon, Connor Stevens, Maddox Hutchinson, Nate Fritz, Lleyton Bauman and Keaton Smith. Girls best times were turned in by Cece Barrett, who kept her undefeated streak alive in the Big 8 Conference, Haley Stimer, Caitlin Wright, Jordyan Metcalf and Kristin Parker

Georgia Weeks led the offense with 14 kills and 1 block. She also had 21 digs and was 13/13 serving with 3 aces. Jacey Hutchins had 6 kills and was 14/14 serving with 1 ace. Karlee Gamet had 5 kills, 14 digs and was 11/11 with 2 aces. Anna Burrow had 4 kills. Julia Riske was 15/15 serving, 3 kills and 25 setting assists. Kayla Miller was 6/6 with 1 ace. The Lady Jackets are 3-1 in the conference and 7-4 overall. We host a quad at Concord this weekend!

The 7th grade volleyball team showed a lot of improvement in their match with Homer (17-25, 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 15-6). Marissa Mandrelle led the team in aces with 15, Cece Barrett served well and added 7 aces, Jordyan Metcalf had 5 aces, and Emma Burbo had 3 aces. Emma Burbo and Jordyan Metcalf each had 4 kills and Lilie Vandenburgh led the team in assists with 3. Macy Sinden player libero and had 1 dig. Bella Coopernoll played the net well and added a kill and Gabby Herzberg played aggressively in the front row. Great job, lady Jackets!

Congrats to Faith Moore as she finished in 27th place (out of 47) at regionals today with a 54-59-113 total at a windy Cascades Golf Course.

Jacey Hutchins player and outstanding game with 8 kills, 25 digs and was 10/10 serving with 5 aces. Karlee Gamet played a great defensive game with 31 digs, 10/11 serving with 1 ace and 4 kills. Anna Burrow had some great attacks tonight with 1 kill and 1 block. Rylee Weeks had 15 digs, 2 kills and was 6/6 serving with 1 ace. Julia Riske had 24 assists, 11 digs and was 18/19 serving with 1 ace. The girls are now 2-1 in conference play and 5-4 overall.

Tonight the Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams hosted the teams from Union City. It was another great night for competing, the Guys stayed undefeated in the Big 8 as they scored a perfect score of 15 to Union City's 50. Jonathan Mikovits led the way as we swept the first 8 places. In second Joe Bulko, third Logan Barrett, fourth Luke Holton, 5th Adair Artis, 6th Chuckie King, 7th Isaac Waldron, 8th Nolan Korman, then in tenth was Cole Thompson, 12th Connor Keefer, 13th Gavin Adams, and 16th Jimmy Franssen.
In the girls race it was also a great night as they took the first six places to score 15 to Union City's 48. Skylar Thompson was firat and she was followed by Haylee Rinehart in second, Gwen Bulko in third, Riley Adams in 4th, Natalie Sharp in 5th, Nichelle Smith in 7th, Kiara Ozuzu in 8th, Haylie Kowalski in 9th, and Jasmin McCabe in 10th.
Our next meet will be Thursday when we travel to homer for a double dual, with Homer and Springport. This will be a make-up with Springport for the meet that was postponed earlier in the season.
