Good Morning Yellow Jacket Families!

I hope everyone had a terrific Labor Day Weekend!! We are excited to have our YellowJackets back in the HIVE for Week #3. We have done really well with the dress code, cell phones, and our hallway behaviors over the first two weeks of school. We need to keep the momentum and really focus on common communal spaces like lining up to get lunch or lining up off from the playground. The key is no roughhousing. It is tough when there are so many kids in line waiting to come in or get lunch, but I'm certain with some more practice we will reach our goal.

If you have time this week to discuss how to wait patiently while lining up with your student, it will help us reinforce the expectation. Teaching and practicing these expectations will lead to a better school environment for our students, so we appreciate your support.

It is a very busy week in our HIVE! Below you will find all of the information you need to make sure you do not miss any major events or learning opportunities.

YellowJacket of the Week starts this week! We have made some changes to the system that celebrates the traits we would like to develop in our students. The traits come from our Learner Profile. The profile shares the top five attributes we think all Concord Students should have to be successful. In the past, we had many learning areas and traits that helped build up those skills. We are now simplifying those traits and slowing down the presentation of learning targets so students have more time to develop these skills. Thus, the YellowJacket of the Week is focused on growth and building these skills. This week we begin by introducing Communicate and one of the traits students need to communicate which is Observant. The definition of Observant is attached. Be on the look out for our students that are recognized for being observant.

By paying close attention to the things around us, we can see how our actions impact others in places like the lunch line or hallways. Being observant allows us to make good choices so we keep ourselves and others safe.

Good Morning Yellow Jacket Families!

Last week was an outstanding week!! Our focus for week #2 will be to continue to master the processes and procedures in common areas like the hallways, lunchroom and playground. Our handbook notes the following critical points in these areas.

Hallways
All students above 3rd grade must use an e-pass or classroom pass. No exceptions.
No loitering. This means no hanging out in the hallway.
Violations will result in a discipline referral.
No roughhousing!

Cafeteria
Wait in a single line to enter the food area.
Keep all food on your tray. No throwing!
Clean up after yourself.
Use socially acceptable manners when talking (watch your words and volume).

If you have time this week to discuss these policies with your student, it will help us reinforce the expectation. Teaching and practicing these expectations, will lead to a better school environment for our students.

We had very little issue with the dress code or cell phones last week. I really appreciate your help and support with this. I have attached some posters of the policies for a reminder. As we head into week #2, we want to make sure students understand the expectation.

Registration helps ensure a smooth start to the year. This year, we are going to utilize a mostly online registration process to give parents easier access to updating the information throughout the year. Most of the paperwork will be completed online. Additionally, a paper McKinney Vento form must also be completed for each person each year.

You will find the directions for online registration as well as a QR code to a video that walks you through the process. If you need support completing the forms online or do not have internet access, during registration, families can complete the online forms with support, receive class schedules (grades 6–8), and ask questions. If you’re unable to attend, paperwork can be completed in the office during business hours or during Open House.

If you have not received your welcome letter it is in the mail and you will be receiving it shortly along with PowerSchool login information. The tutorial video can be found on our website by scanning the QR code on the bottom of the instruction page. The instructions can be found in our parent resource tab on our district website.

Welcome Back YellowJackets, we are excited to start this 2025-2026 year with you.!
