The Jackson District Library Young Poetry Contest chose two of Concord High School's writers as recipients this year. Junior Lacee Girardin's poem "The Beauty of Night" received the third-place award for 11th graders in the county. While freshman Zakiyah Holmes' poem "Chicken and Dumplings" received the 2nd place award for 9th graders in the county. We are incredibly proud of both of these students for not only striving to write meaningful pieces but also for their bravery in submitting their work for this competition.
