According to legend, six word memoirs began when Ernest Hemmingway was challenged to write a short story using only six words. In 2006, Larry Smith, the owner of Smith Magazine, continued this challenge by asking readers to describe their life in six words. As a getting to know you activity, our sixth graders were challenged to do the same.  This is just a sample of their amazing responses.
