On Saturday the cross country teams traveled to Hudson where they joined 15 other schools for Regional Competition. In the girls race Skylar Thompson led the way from start to finish. Her first place finish earned her All Regional honors and a spot in the State Finals. Also congratulations to Haylee Rinehart who ran her fastest time of the season and to Natalie Sharp who ran her fastest time ever. In the boys race Jonathan Mikovits paced the field of runners with a first place finish. He was followed by Cole Thompson in 8th, Matt Record in 12th, Bryan Smith in 15th. All four of them earned All Regional Honors. Congratulations to Cole and Adair Artis as they both ran their fastest time ever. When the team scores were added up the Boys earned the twenty second Regional Championship in school history. This Saturday the teams will travel to MIS for the state finals. Skylar will run at 9:30am.

Reminder that tonight Concord High School is hosting Mario Nanos. Mario is a family man and entrepreneur in the healthcare field. His son, Yanni, died tragically in 2018 of a heroin overdose that began with his use of opioids. Please, come to Concord High School on October 16th at 6:30 p.m. to learn what Mr. Nanos learned about the signals a parent can miss in a young person who showed no signs of trouble. This is important information that will help us all be more aware and, hopefully, to avoid the loss of one of our students.
