Dear Middle School Families,
I hope this message finds you well! I’m writing to share an important update regarding student cell phone policy for all middle school students and Chromebook use for just 6th and 7th grade students for the remainder of the school year.
As you know, we are a 1:1 Chromebook school, and students are allowed to take their devices home. However, we’ve seen a growing number of issues this year related to Chromebooks being broken, lost, or misused. We’ve also seen an increase in the number of loaner devices being needed—we have a limited amount of loaners available to give to students while their original devices are being repaired.
In addition, we’ve noticed that technology, especially cell phones, has become a significant distraction for some students, negatively impacting their engagement and learning in the classroom. We’ve taken a more formal and firm approach to enforcing our cell phone policy and are now applying similar accountability measures to Chromebook usage. Our approaches are consistent with board policy and the middle school handbook.
To support a more focused and responsible use of technology, we have collected all 6th and 7th grade Chromebooks. These devices will now remain at school for the remainder of the year. Students will still be able to access their assigned Chromebook during the school day, and if a student needs to take their device home for a specific reason (such as working on a project), they will be able to check it out through the office or their teacher.
We believe this decision will help promote better care of school-issued devices, reduce distractions, and support a more productive learning environment. A letter outlining these changes was sent home with students via our school newsletter, but we understand that not all parents may have received it.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We will progress monitor this system and reevaluate at the end of quarter 4. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

The lawns are being treated this coming Sunday 4/06/2025. Please see the label below for more information.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you and your families have a restful and enjoyable Spring Break! We are eagerly anticipating the return of our students on Monday, March 31st, as we begin the final quarter of the school year.
The fourth quarter is always a time of excitement and celebration, filled with opportunities for students to showcase their hard work and enjoy some well-deserved fun. We have many engaging activities planned, including our annual "Day at the Park," which students always look forward to.
To ensure a positive and rewarding end to the school year for all, we want to remind you of the criteria for participation in these special end-of-year events. Students who maintain good academic standing and behavior will be eligible to participate.
Specifically, students will be ineligible for end-of-year activities if they receive any of the following during the fourth quarter:
- Failing grade in any class.
- Three or more lunch detentions.
- Any in-school or out-of-school suspension.
We believe that by working together, we can help our students finish the year strong. We encourage you to partner with us in reinforcing the importance of academic effort and positive behavior. Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about setting goals for the fourth quarter and maintaining their best behavior.
We are confident that with your support, our students will thrive and enjoy a memorable conclusion to the school year. We are looking forward to a successful fourth quarter!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to announce we have opened another feedback gathering session on our team-based teaching model. Your input, along with that of your child, is invaluable to us as we strive to continuously improve the learning experience for all students. After the first round of feedback, we reviewed the data and made some adjustments so this round of feedback is equally important.
At Concord Community Schools, we believe that feedback is a powerful tool for growth and improvement. By listening to the voices of our students, parents, and staff, we can identify areas of strength and areas where we can make improvements. Your feedback will help us to:
Enhance student engagement: We will use your insights to develop more engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Optimize learning outcomes: We will analyze your feedback to identify effective teaching strategies and adjust our curriculum as needed.
Strengthen the parent-teacher partnership: Your feedback will help us to build stronger relationships with you and keep you informed about your child's progress.
In addition to this parent survey, we will also be administering a student survey to gather their perspectives on the team-based teaching model.
To help us better understand your perspective, we kindly request that you take a few minutes to complete the following survey. The survey can be accessed either through the link below or the QR code.
Parent Survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfQnTSHu8cHP1sCkFiHxxI9tvsUDRSj0nX1ZesW0KPte9YWlg/viewform?usp=sharing
This survey will ask about your child's experience with the team-based teaching model, including their engagement, academic progress, and overall satisfaction. Your honest feedback will help us identify areas of strength and areas where we can make improvements. We ask that the feedback be specific to the learning experience within the model. If you have other concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. The survey will be confidential. We will close the survey on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Thank you for your time and support. We value your partnership in providing the best possible education for your child.
Sincerely,
#ONEHIVE
