Foreign Links Around the Globe (FLAG) and Concord High School are proud to announce the winners of the second annual CHS-FLAG International Scholars Scholarships. The winners are Anna Bulko (11th grade), Rebecca Otmanowski (11th grade), Arielle Knight (10th grade), Quincie Cheeney (9th grade), and Hayley Sierminski (9th grade). Each young woman had to complete an intensive application and interview process and her parents were also interviewed. All of them are anxiously awaiting their trips to Germany and the experiences that await them living with host families in Germany.
All five young ladies will be going to Germany for up to thirty days on scholarships. This scholarship is created in collaboration with families in Concord hosting exchange students in their homes for the academic school year. Last summer, three young women (Brianne Couling, Madison Record, and Emma Giddings) received the first ever CHS-FLAG Scholars Scholarships, and it their influence that encouraged some of this year’s applicants.
FLAG and CHS hope this is the beginning of a long-term partnership teaching Concord students about global diplomacy.
