John George Student Loan Fund
The John George Student Loan Fund will loan qualified Michigan students up to $4,000 per year at a 2% interest rate to attend Michigan state-supported colleges and universities and anticipate loaning a cumulative total of $16,000 per student.

Jackson County Michigan residents and/or graduates of Jackson County Michigan high schools. Financial need is NOT a determining factor for eligibility. Students must successfully complete at least 12 credit hours each semester and maintain a 2.25 grade point average each semester in college.

Applications are available October 1st through April 30th and may be downloaded from their website or by visiting our office at 145 South Jackson Street, Jackson, MI 49204. Applications are due back to their office by mail or in person no later than May 1st. Applications received after May 1st will be considered on a funds available basis.

LRAP Foundations
The LRAP Foundations is also awarding five individuals with the Free to Dream LRAP Award, empowering them to attend their first-choice college (meaning schools beside SAU since those who attend SAU will automatically receive it) without fear of student loan debt and financial hardship after graduation. These award recipients will be selected from high schools in the following Michigan counties: Branch, Calhoun, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Washtenaw, because of their partnership with SAU. The deadline for students to apply for this award is December 31st and applications must be submitted online at
